
Bhopal, May 28: Madhya Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla emphasized the need to prioritize the recruitment of doctors and specialists in underserved and remote areas. This initiative aims to ensure quality healthcare services reach the most vulnerable populations. During a review meeting held at the ministry, Shukla discussed various plans related to public health, medical education, infrastructure development, and human resources.
He highlighted the importance of making healthcare services more robust, accessible, and effective. Key topics included the recruitment of medical professionals, progress on nursing college constructions, maintenance of hospitals, approval of positions for the cancer hospital in Sagar, strengthening of laboratories, and ensuring the availability of necessary human resources in health institutions.
Shukla reiterated that not only the availability of doctors is crucial, but also a sufficient number of nursing and paramedical staff is essential for delivering effective healthcare services. He called for concrete and effective measures in this direction.
The discussion also covered reimbursement for additional expenses related to organ transplant cases under the CM Care scheme. Shukla directed that necessary provisions be made to ensure timely assistance for needy patients. He instructed the swift preparation of proposals to include cancer treatment packages under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, facilitating greater financial support for cancer patients and improving their access to quality treatment.
The Deputy Chief Minister stressed the need for a transparent, smooth, and sensitive departmental transfer process. He directed that adequate availability of doctors in tribal and remote areas be maintained. Additionally, sensitive cases such as those involving severe illnesses, couples wishing to be stationed together, and cases concerning disabled dependents, widows, and divorcees should be prioritized in the transfer process.
