Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Energizes 40 MVA Transformer at Julwania Substation

Bhopal, May 3: Energy Minister Pradyumna Singh Tomar announced that the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MP Transco) has successfully energized a 40 MVA power transformer at the 220 kV Julwania substation. This initiative aims to strengthen the transmission network in Barwani district.

With the energization of this transformer, the transmission capacity of Barwani district has increased to 2642 MVA, while the capacity of the Julwania substation has risen to 423 MVA.

Minister Tomar explained that considering the current and future load demands, a transformer with double the capacity was installed instead of a 20 MVA transformer. This enhancement will directly benefit thousands of domestic and agricultural electricity consumers connected to Julwania, ensuring a more reliable and quality power supply.

Surendra Solanki, the chief engineer of MP Transco, stated that electricity is supplied from the 220 kV Julwania substation through six 33 kV feeders, which include Rajpur, Sendhwa, Nagalwadi, Manwada, Julwania, and Segav.

MP Transco transmits electricity in Barwani district through its nine substations, which include a 400 kV Julwania substation with a capacity of 1490 MVA, two 220 kV substations at Julwania (423 MVA) and Sendhwa (223 MVA), and six 132 kV substations with capacities ranging from 40 MVA to 123 MVA. The total transformation capacity in the district stands at 2642 MVA.
