Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Highlights Central Government Support

Bhopal, March 12: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated on Thursday that the state government is receiving full support from the central government for various schemes.

The Chief Minister made this announcement following several meetings with central ministers, including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Water Power Minister C.R. Patil. These discussions focused on critical issues related to their respective ministries.

During the meeting with the Finance Minister, Mohan Yadav addressed financial matters, discussed achieved targets, and requested financial assistance. He also talked about the necessary financial arrangements for projects related to the Simhastha-2028 and other essential initiatives.

In a statement, the Chief Minister mentioned, “During the meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, we shared information regarding various schemes’ targets and achievements for the current financial year, including financial support for the state, particularly for Simhastha in Ujjain.”

Yadav further explained that discussions with C.R. Patil included the progress of two inter-state river linking projects in Madhya Pradesh: Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC), which have received central approval. He added, “We also discussed in detail projects and agreements under the Narmada Valley irrigation schemes with neighboring states Gujarat and Maharashtra, as well as increasing water supply through single-village schemes.”

While providing updates on the meeting with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Yadav noted that they discussed enhancing farmers’ income and strengthening agriculture in Madhya Pradesh. Several pending issues related to crop procurement and rural development, particularly mustard procurement, were also addressed.

He revealed that the central government has approved the state’s proposal under the Bhavantar payment scheme for mustard procurement and instructed the relevant departments to expedite the payment process.

During the meeting, Chouhan also presented a letter of approval to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for the 100 percent procurement of tur (arhar) in Madhya Pradesh.

The discussions also reviewed issues related to the payment difference for mustard and soybean prices, additional targets for moong and black gram under the Pulses Mission, the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme, soil health and fertility programs, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
