Macron Praises Trumps Efforts on Iran Deal, Offers Support for Regional Peace

New Delhi, June 1: French President Emmanuel Macron recently engaged in discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the situation in the Middle East and efforts for regional peace. Macron emphasized collaboration and support while addressing the Iran-U.S. agreement, regional security frameworks, and the situation in Lebanon.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Macron stated, “I spoke with President Trump about the Middle East situation. I appreciated his steadfast efforts to reach an agreement between the U.S. and Iran as soon as possible. I believe this is a unique opportunity to create a new security framework involving all relevant parties, ensuring long-term stability and peace in the region.”

He further mentioned, “I informed him that we are fully prepared to support and play our role in implementing these efforts. To this end, we have developed an international mission in collaboration with the UK and other partners, ready to be deployed once an agreement is reached. Its aim will be to ensure the security of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, we are prepared to contribute our expertise and capabilities in broader discussions, particularly regarding the nuclear aspects of the agreement.”

Macron also commended Trump’s commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty and regional integrity, stressing the necessity of a strong ceasefire and the importance of collective support for Lebanese authorities.

The French President has called for a swift agreement between the U.S. and Iran. Previously, Macron has also spoken with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

On social media, Macron conveyed that during these discussions, all leaders were given a unified message emphasizing the urgent need for the U.S. and Iran to reach an agreement. He urged the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without conditions and in accordance with international law.
