China Plays a Positive Role in Strengthening BRICS Cooperation

Beijing, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : President Xi Jinping’s participation in the 18th BRICS summit, set to take place in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, is being viewed as a significant step towards enhancing cooperation among the Global South. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the BRICS cooperation mechanism, which has expanded over two decades, increasing its representation, influence, and appeal among emerging economies and developing nations.

Sudeendra Kulkarni, founder of the New South Asia Forum in India, asserts that China has played a constructive role in bolstering BRICS cooperation. He points to initiatives such as promoting the establishment of the New Development Bank, advancing the ‘BRICS Plus’ cooperation model, and fostering innovation partnerships for the new industrial revolution as key contributions that have helped BRICS adapt to the changing global landscape.

Experts believe that President Xi’s upcoming participation will further strengthen unity, mutual cooperation, and the collective voice of the Global South among BRICS nations.
