New Delhi, June 1: A heartbreaking incident has emerged from the Jaitpur area of New Delhi, where a 23-year-old woman named Roshni was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Her family alleges that she faced continuous harassment for dowry from her in-laws since her marriage. Following their complaint, the Delhi police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to Roshni’s family, she had married recently. Since then, she endured both mental and physical abuse related to dowry demands. They claim that her husband and in-laws frequently pressured her for money.
In one instance, Roshni’s husband cited his mother’s cancer treatment as a reason for needing funds. Concerned for their daughter’s well-being, Roshni’s father managed to gather the money and handed it over. However, the harassment did not cease.
The family further alleges that Roshni later discovered her husband was involved with another woman. When she confronted him, she was subjected to violence. Fearing for her safety, Roshni’s relatives took her in for a time.
After a few days, her husband apologized, admitting his wrongdoing and promising to change his behavior. Roshni was then sent back to her in-laws. Tragically, the very next day, her family received the shocking news that she was found hanging in her room.
She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. The family is engulfed in grief and anger, accusing her in-laws of harassing Roshni for dowry and ultimately forcing her to take her own life.
The police have registered a case under dowry harassment and other relevant sections of the law. Officials state that they are thoroughly investigating all aspects of the case and will take further legal action based on their findings.
