China Warns U.S. to Halt Espionage Activities Immediately

China urges the U.S. to stop espionage against its enterprises, asserting its commitment to protect its sovereignty and economic interests.

Beijing, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce issued a stern warning to the United States, demanding an immediate cessation of espionage activities against China and its enterprises. This statement follows comments made by a senior CIA official regarding alleged spying efforts targeting China.

The spokesperson emphasized that China possesses the determination and resources necessary to enforce its anti-espionage laws. They reiterated that any illegal or criminal activities would face severe penalties. The ministry is committed to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.

Additionally, the spokesperson criticized U.S. actions as detrimental to fair competition. They argued that economic rivalry should be rooted in business practices, relying on technology, talent, and innovation. The exaggeration of national security concerns by the U.S. blurs the lines between competition and security, framing economic rivalry as a so-called “threat.” This mindset, they claimed, reflects a zero-sum game mentality reminiscent of the Cold War.

Interference by U.S. intelligence agencies in the realm of economic competition undermines the business expectations of companies from various countries and weakens the global market environment for fair competition. China has expressed serious concern over this issue and firmly opposes such actions.

This warning underscores the escalating tensions between the two nations regarding economic practices and national security.
