Chennai, March 14: Light rain is anticipated in the Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi districts of Tamil Nadu over the next two days, while most parts of the state are expected to remain dry.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, very light rain may occur at one or two locations in Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi on Saturday and Sunday. However, no significant rainfall is expected in the majority of districts.
The brief showers in the southern coastal areas are attributed to minor atmospheric changes in the region. Although the amount of rainfall is expected to be minimal, it may provide temporary relief from rising temperatures in these areas.
The department further stated that no significant changes in maximum temperatures are anticipated in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal in the coming days. However, a slight increase in temperatures may occur in some regions, leading to warmer daytime weather.
Weather experts have advised residents across the state to prepare for rising temperatures. Due to a widespread lack of rainfall, many districts are likely to experience dry and hot weather during the day. Partly cloudy skies are expected in Chennai on Saturday.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has indicated that the maximum temperature in the city will range between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Despite the partly cloudy skies, the likelihood of rain in the city remains low. Weather conditions are expected to remain relatively stable over the next 24 hours.
Meteorological officials noted that such sporadic rainfall is typical during this transitional period between winter and summer in Tamil Nadu. While light rain may occasionally occur in the southern coastal districts due to local weather patterns, most parts of the state generally remain dry during this time.
