Udaipur : The Kshatriya Vikas Sansthan organised a lecture series on the 387th birth anniversary of national hero Veer Durgadas Rathore, aimed at spreading his legacy of sacrifice, loyalty, and dedication among the youth. The event sought to instil a sense of duty towards the nation and society in the younger generation.

Following a floral tribute, the programme began with a welcome address by Dr Kamal Singh Bemla, who highlighted the historical significance of Veer Durgadas and said such events serve as a strong medium to connect the new generation with history and culture. Chandraveer Singh Karelia welcomed the guests and shared details about the Kshatriya Vikas Sansthan, established in 1982.
In his address, Cultural Secretary Ranbir Singh Jolawas said that Veer Durgadas’s life exemplifies loyalty, sacrifice, dedication, duty, and respect for women. He recalled how Durgadas protected Maharaja Ajit Singh for 30 years against Aurangzeb’s oppression, securing the throne of Marwar, and joined hands with Maharana Raj Singh of Mewar to fight for Rajputana’s freedom. He also cited the well-known incident of offering water to a thirsty enemy.
Guest speaker Dr Kamalendra Singh Ranawat stressed the importance of introducing youth to the lives of great warriors, noting that such efforts not only foster pride in history but also impart essential life skills. He placed special emphasis on value-based upbringing for children, calling it a pressing need.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr Vivek Bhatnagar said the historical ties between Mewar and Marwar and Veer Durgadas’s role in defending Rajputana were unparalleled. He described Durgadas as a great figure of not just Marwar but the entire Rajputana and India, whose memory continues to inspire.
In his concluding remarks, Sansthan Vice President Naval Singh Jud expressed gratitude to the speakers, guests, and audience, and pledged that the organisation would continue holding such inspiring events to connect youth with their glorious past and encourage active participation in nation-building.
Other speakers, including Bharat Singh Dawana and Kalyan Singh Ranawat, recalled several episodes from Durgadas’s life. Bhagat Singh Bemla presented the song Laut Ke Aa Mere Durgadas, written by Shri Tan Singh Ji. The event was attended by several dignitaries including Sansthan founder Bhawani Singh Jolawas, Bhawar Singh Gagarol, Indra Singh Jolawas, Mahendra Singh Pakhand, Jitendra Singh Dawana, Ishwar Singh Bemla, Kundan Singh Murauli, Shivraj Singh Rupaheri, Hemendra Singh Ramderia, and Mahendra Singh Jolawas. The vote of thanks was proposed by Krishnadev Singh Dawana.
