Shimla, June 1: Minister Vikramaditya Singh addressed speculations regarding a potential leadership change in Himachal Pradesh, similar to Karnataka’s recent developments. He stated that any decision related to leadership will be made by the party’s central leadership after thorough discussions.
In a conversation in Shimla, Singh emphasized that each state’s circumstances are unique. He affirmed that any decision made by the central leadership will be accepted by the party members.
Singh remarked, “We are unaware of where these discussions originated, so it would not be appropriate to comment further. Whatever decision the party makes, we will stand firmly behind it.”
Regarding the municipal election results, he noted that the Congress performed well in Palampur, but acknowledged shortcomings in Solan, Mandi, and Dharamshala, where the party expected better outcomes.
He admitted that there is no doubt about the need to analyze these results to understand why they occurred and to take necessary steps for the future. Singh mentioned that discussions with the party’s top leadership will take place to strengthen the party.
He added, “Regardless of the results, we must work together. Every city is equally important to us, and we will collaborate.”
Discussing the Panchayati elections, Singh highlighted that voters consider not only the party but also the leaders’ connections with the public when casting their votes. He congratulated all victorious representatives and emphasized the importance of respecting the people’s mandate.
Minister Rohit Thakur of the Himachal Pradesh government expressed gratitude to the public for their blessings, attributing the Congress party’s impressive victory to their support. He sincerely thanked the people for their mandate and acknowledged the dedicated Congress workers who tirelessly contributed to this success.
