Leaders Pay Tribute to Param Vir Chakra Awardee Abdul Hamid on His Sacrifice Day

New Delhi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : On September 10, 2026, leaders across India gathered to honor the memory of Param Vir Chakra awardee Abdul Hamid, a hero of the 1965 India-Pakistan War. The day marked his sacrifice, and tributes poured in from prominent figures including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.

In a heartfelt message on social media, Om Birla praised Hamid’s extraordinary courage and combat skills. “On the sacrifice day of the brave Abdul Hamid, who displayed remarkable valor during the 1965 war, I pay my deepest respects. He destroyed multiple enemy tanks and stood firm under challenging circumstances, enriching the glorious legacy of the Indian Army. A grateful nation will always remember his bravery and sacrifice,” Birla wrote.

Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also paid tribute, stating, “On this day, we remember the immortal martyr Abdul Hamid, whose indomitable courage and determination during the 1965 war instilled fear in the hearts of the enemy. His ultimate sacrifice for the motherland will forever remain in the hearts of every citizen.”

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya expressed his respect, highlighting Hamid’s remarkable bravery. “In the 1965 war, Abdul Hamid displayed incredible courage and made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our homeland. His valor and patriotism will continue to inspire the nation,” he remarked.

Pankaj Chaudhary, the President of the Uttar Pradesh BJP, paid his respects, noting Hamid’s fearless actions against enemy tanks. “His sacrifice for national defense will ignite the spirit of patriotism in future generations,” he stated.

Sanjay Sarawagi, the President of the Bihar BJP, also honored Hamid, acknowledging his supreme sacrifice during the war. “He set an unparalleled example of bravery by destroying enemy Patton tanks. His story of valor and ultimate sacrifice will continue to inspire our nation,” he added.
