Lawyers Protest Against Police Assault at Greater Noida District Court

Greater Noida, March 16: A significant uproar erupted among lawyers at the district court in Surajpur, Greater Noida, on Monday, following an alleged assault on an attorney. A large number of lawyers gathered in the court premises to protest against the police, leading to a tense standoff. The situation escalated to the point where lawyers surrounded the police officers present in the court, forcing them to leave the premises.

Witnesses reported that the enraged lawyers prevented police personnel from entering the court area. Multiple videos of the incident quickly went viral on social media, showing police officers exiting the court grounds. The incident has sparked widespread discussion, especially since the anger among lawyers has been palpable since the alleged assault.

Lawyers claim that police officers behaved inappropriately and assaulted their colleague, prompting all members of the bar to unite in demanding action. They have stated that their protest will continue until strict measures are taken against the guilty police officers. In response to the incident, the administration has already suspended four police personnel.

However, lawyers argue that mere suspension is insufficient. They demand a thorough investigation and stringent legal action against those responsible. In protest of the incident, all lawyers at the Surajpur district court have gone on strike, which is expected to disrupt several court hearings.

The lawyers have made it clear that they will not return to work until justice is served. Manoj Bhati, the president of the Bar Association, also commented on the situation, emphasizing that the entire bar has strongly condemned the assault on their colleague. However, he clarified that the Bar Association does not support any form of disturbance or unrest within the court premises.

Bhati noted that the process for suspending the guilty police officers has begun, and any unrest is unwarranted. He stated that an FIR will be filed through the court, and justice will be pursued through legal means.
