Lawyers Assault Minor Rape Accused in Bhopal Court

Bhopal, February 3: A group of lawyers and civilians attacked a man accused of raping a minor in the Bhopal district court premises. The incident escalated into a clash between the police and the lawyers when the accused, identified as Osaf Ali Khan, was brought to court.

Videos of the altercation have gone viral on social media, showing police attempting to protect the detained suspect from the crowd. As police arrived at the Bhopal court, a group of lawyers launched an assault on the accused. The chaos momentarily disrupted court proceedings, prompting police to use force to escort the suspect.

According to reports, Khan was arrested by the police on Monday night in connection with the rape of an 11th-grade student from the Kohefiza area. The victim filed a complaint at the Kohefiza police station, alleging that Khan had blackmailed her and assaulted her.

In her complaint, the victim stated that last July, Khan lured her to a secluded area in the Khaanugaan region and sexually assaulted her. She also revealed that when she resisted, Khan promised to marry her to silence her.

During the assault, Khan secretly recorded an inappropriate video of the victim. He later threatened to release the video unless she paid him one lakh rupees. Fearing disgrace, the victim managed to arrange 40,000 rupees and handed it over to him. Additionally, he coerced her into performing Islamic prayers against her will.

The police have detained Khan and confiscated his mobile phone, which will undergo forensic examination. According to Krishna Gopal Shukla, the SHO of Kohefiza police station, the accused frequently visited the area near the school to meet a friend of the victim, through whom he became acquainted with her.
