Launch of Kharif Mahabhiyan 2026: Farmer Awareness Campaign Kicks Off with LED Vehicle

New Delhi, June 15: The Kharif Mahabhiyan 2026 has officially launched a farmer awareness campaign in Nawada. An LED-equipped awareness vehicle was flagged off during the event.

Under the guidance of District Magistrate Ravi Prakash, the campaign commenced on Monday at the district collectorate, led by Additional Collector Dr. Anil Kumar Tiwari.

This awareness vehicle will traverse all 14 blocks of the district, reaching three panchayats daily to provide farmers with crucial information about various agricultural schemes, modern farming techniques, and scientific agriculture.

District Agricultural Officer Ajit Prakash emphasized the importance of timely dissemination of information regarding new technologies and government schemes to farmers. He noted that the awareness vehicle aims to inspire farmers towards advanced and profitable farming practices while making them aware of the benefits of government initiatives.

Through this LED-equipped vehicle, farmers will receive audio-visual presentations on various agricultural schemes, programs, and technical information from the agriculture department. Additionally, details about the distribution of agricultural grants through DBT, agricultural inputs, crop demonstration programs, and comprehensive information on departmental schemes will be shared during the Kharif season.

The campaign will also educate farmers on zero tillage techniques for direct sowing of paddy, modern agricultural practices that save water and labor, and methods to reduce production costs. Information on advanced cultivation of maize, baby corn, and sweet corn, along with the use of high-quality seeds, crop diversification, and income enhancement strategies will also be provided.

Farmers will receive detailed information on the technical benefits gained from participating in farmer fairs, farmer schools, training programs, field days, and agricultural seminars, enabling them to adopt new agricultural technologies to increase productivity and income.

The initiative will emphasize the use of balanced fertilizers, soil health preservation, the importance of soil testing, promoting organic and natural farming, and the application of drone technology in agriculture. It aims to empower farmers through agricultural welfare forums and inform them about reducing production costs based on soil testing while maintaining soil fertility in the long term.

This awareness campaign is a significant step towards effectively communicating the agriculture department’s schemes and technical information to farmers, promoting modern and scientific thinking in agriculture. It will assist farmers in adopting new technologies, increasing agricultural production, and becoming self-reliant and prosperous.
