Why Is There a Delay in U.S. Attacks on Iran? Former Bangladesh High Commissioner Vina Sikri Explains

New Delhi, August 23: Former Bangladesh High Commissioner Vina Sikri has responded to recent statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Iran. She noted that this is not the first time Trump has made such comments. The U.S. is attempting to control ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, asserting it as their territory.

Sikri, a former Indian diplomat, pointed out that while the U.S. has threatened Iran with a significant attack, no action has yet occurred. She speculated that the delay may be due to shortages of ammunition and interceptor missiles. According to her, the U.S. military is facing challenges in weapon availability, which is causing the postponement of any action against Iran.

Commenting on Trump’s remarks, Sikri stated, “This is not the first time President Trump has made such statements. The U.S. is trying to control all ships entering and exiting the Strait of Hormuz. They perceive it as their area, as the U.S. naval blockade can manage ship movements.”

She further added, “The U.S. is threatening a dangerous response, claiming they could launch a massive attack on Iran that would devastate the nation. However, this attack has not yet occurred, leading to speculation about the reasons behind the delay. Some suggest that there may be issues with the availability of ammunition, interceptors, and other missiles, causing a shortfall for the U.S. military.”

Sikri also mentioned reports indicating that NATO countries are contemplating their role in the Strait of Hormuz and how they might assist. The situation is rapidly evolving, and no one truly knows where it will lead. However, Iran has made it clear that it intends to maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz and is willing to negotiate with Oman regarding this matter.
