Chinese Premier Li Qiang Chairs Regular State Council Meeting

Beijing, August 22: Chinese Premier Li Qiang presided over a regular State Council meeting on August 21. The meeting focused on several key issues, including the construction of next-generation communication networks, efforts to resolve outstanding payments for enterprises, and the continuous improvement of air quality. Additionally, the meeting reviewed and approved the revised draft regulations on emergency response and investigation of electrical safety accidents, as well as the draft regulations concerning market supervision and management offices.

The meeting emphasized the need to adapt actively to the new era of technological revolution and industrial transformation. It highlighted the importance of leveraging opportunities from the construction of next-generation communication networks, following an application-based development approach, and maintaining a medium-term visionary perspective. Coordination in building basic networks, space networks, international networks, and integrated networks is essential to strengthen and enhance the competitive advantages of the country’s information and communication industry.

Furthermore, the meeting called for accelerating and intensifying the campaign to settle outstanding payments for enterprises. It stressed the importance of reinforcing the primary responsibilities of enterprises, encouraging local governments to effectively utilize special bonds and refinancing policies, streamlining the “payment chain,” improving the quality of debt settlement, and strictly preventing new outstanding payments.
