New Delhi, April 28: A significant meeting took place on Tuesday in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, between Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun. This meeting was held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) defense ministers’ gathering.
The two defense ministers discussed regional security and mutual cooperation. Rajnath Singh is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with representatives from other SCO member countries and will meet with the Indian community residing in Kyrgyzstan.
It is believed that during this high-level dialogue, the defense ministers addressed the current security situation in Asia and measures to maintain stability in the region. They also discussed strengthening communication to enhance coordination in border areas and reduce tensions.
After meeting Admiral Dong Jun, Rajnath Singh expressed his satisfaction with their discussions during the SCO defense ministers’ meeting. Defense experts have described this encounter as positive and constructive. Prior to this meeting, Singh paid tribute to fallen soldiers at Victory Square in Bishkek, honoring their sacrifices.
