New Delhi, March 1: After being acquitted in a liquor scam, former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is in action mode. Addressing a rally at Jantar Mantar, he criticized both the BJP and Congress, asserting that he is not corrupt because of his love for India.
During the rally, Kejriwal stated, “Two days ago, a Delhi court delivered a historic verdict in favor of the people of Delhi and the nation. I want to congratulate the people of Delhi and the country for this landmark decision. In such a terrifying atmosphere, the judge made a courageous ruling.” He accused the BJP and Congress of deceiving the nation.
He emphasized that he cannot tolerate acts of treason or fraud. He questioned, “The Congress government was ousted in 2014 because people were fed up with its scams, such as the coal scam, 2G scam, and the Commonwealth Games scam. People had high hopes for the new government. But did you gain anything from it?”
Kejriwal claimed that the BJP government at the center has ruined the country over the past 12 years. He pointed out the deteriorating condition of roads and sewage systems, the aviation sector, and the railways, stating that even the air has become toxic. He also described the dire state of banking, education, and healthcare sectors.
He alleged that a massive drug racket worth ₹20,000 crores is operating in Gujarat and challenged BJP leaders to take action against it.
Kejriwal mentioned that the people of Delhi have suffered greatly due to the BJP’s conspiracies over the past four years. They have continuously accused him of corruption, claiming he has embezzled ₹100 crores.
At the rally, attended by party workers from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, he asserted that the court’s decision clearly shows that the BJP is lying and that he is “completely honest.”
He claimed that the court’s ruling is a slap in the face for those BJP leaders who personally oversaw investigations to frame AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and Sanjay Singh.
Kejriwal recounted that after graduating from IIT, he could have gone abroad but chose to stay and serve the country, aiming to reform the corrupt system. “I love my India. I have not engaged in any corruption. The BJP has ordered numerous investigations against me but has failed to prove even a single rupee of corruption,” he stated.
He challenged anyone to prove that he accepted a bribe from any contractor or vendor during his ten years as Chief Minister. “If anyone can prove that I am corrupt, I will leave politics,” he declared.
