Mumbai, June 3: Renowned choreographer, director, and producer Ahmed Khan is celebrating his birthday today. On this special occasion, actor Jackie Shroff extended his heartfelt wishes in a unique way.
The actor shared a picture of Ahmed Khan on his Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Happy Birthday, Ahmed Khan.”
While Ahmed Khan is now a prominent figure in choreography, film direction, production, and writing, few know that he started his career as a child artist in Anil Kapoor’s film ‘Mr. India.’ His passion for dance soon emerged, leading him to work as an assistant to the famous choreographer Saroj Khan.
His first major film as an independent choreographer was ‘Rangeela,’ starring Urmila Matondkar and Aamir Khan. This film earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography. He has since choreographed popular songs in blockbuster films like ‘Taal,’ ‘Ghajini,’ and ‘Kick.’
Following his success in choreography, he ventured into directing, helming films such as ‘Lakeer’ and ‘Fool and Final.’ He has also produced and written films like ‘Paatshala.’ Ahmed Khan directed the action and dance-based hit franchises ‘Baaghi 2’ (2018) and ‘Baaghi 3’ (2020).
Together with his wife Shaira Khan, he runs his production house ‘Paperdoll Entertainment,’ under which films like ‘Paatshala’ and ‘Ek Paheli Leela’ have been produced.
He has also been quite active on television, serving as a judge on major dance reality shows like ‘Nach Baliye’ and ‘Dance India Dance.’
The director is set to release his much-anticipated film ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ a major comedy-action film featuring stars like Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. This film, directed by Ahmed Khan, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026. Additionally, he is working on plans for his upcoming films.
