Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadris Timeless Chemistry in Hero

Mumbai, July 29: The iconic film ‘Hero,’ released in 1983, showcased the powerful pairing of Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri. Recently, Meenakshi shared an interesting anecdote related to this film.

She revealed that from the very first day of shooting, the chemistry between her and Jackie was so strong that it significantly impacted the film’s romantic narrative.

During her appearance on the dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer,’ Meenakshi reminisced about her experiences with ‘Hero.’ Contestants Vaidehi and Pratik delivered a stunning dance performance to a song from the film, which moved Meenakshi to tears. She took this opportunity to share several untold stories from the film’s journey.

Meenakshi noted that the film received immense appreciation across the country. She recounted a special incident from Chennai, where Hindi films were not widely promoted at the time. However, ‘Hero’ achieved remarkable success there.

She mentioned, “There was a theater named Padma in Chennai. ‘Hero’ ran continuously for nearly a year in that theater. This was a significant record. My relatives living in Chennai were thrilled with this success. They felt proud that their family member had achieved such a milestone.”

Meenakshi credited the film’s director, Subhash Ghai, for this success. She stated, “The way the film was crafted and how the characters were presented played a crucial role, thanks to director Subhash Ghai. He portrayed our pairing in a way that resonated with the audience.”

Reflecting on the early days of filming, she recalled, “After the muhurat, a jungle set was prepared where the first shoot began. From day one, Jackie and I developed a great friendship. Our chemistry was so evident that it translated onto the screen. Even today, people fondly remember Jackie and my pairing and cherish the memories associated with ‘Hero.'”
