IRCTC Launches Enhanced Golden Chariot Luxury Train for 2026-27 Season with Special Offers

New Delhi, May 22: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has unveiled an upgraded version of the luxury train ‘Golden Chariot’ for the 2026–27 tourism season. This train is a part of the Indian Railways’ tourism division and operates under the Ministry of Railways as a Navratna public sector undertaking.

Showcasing the historical and natural beauty of South India, the Golden Chariot now offers modern amenities and a luxurious experience for travelers.

The new Golden Chariot train features premium facilities for passengers, including attractive interiors, comfortable cabins, smart TVs, Wi-Fi streaming, and advanced security measures. The train is equipped with CCTV, a sophisticated fire alarm system, and trained hospitality staff.

With a total of 40 cabins, the train includes 13 double beds, 26 twin beds, and one cabin specifically designed for differently-abled passengers. It can accommodate approximately 80 travelers at a time.

Passengers can enjoy fine dining at two restaurants, ‘Ruchi’ and ‘Nalpak,’ which serve both Indian and international cuisines. Additionally, the train features a lounge bar named ‘Madhira’ and an ‘Arogya Spa and Fitness Center,’ offering Ayurvedic therapies and modern fitness facilities.

In the new season, the train will operate on several attractive routes, including the Pride of Karnataka (6 days) from Bengaluru to Goa, Jewels of South (6 days) exploring historic cities in South India, and Glimpses of Karnataka (4 days) from Bengaluru to Hampi.

IRCTC has also announced special promotional offers for this season, providing passengers with discounts of up to 20% on select journeys. An additional 5% early-bird discount will be available for payments made in advance by June 30, 2026. These offers are subject to availability and specific terms and conditions.

IRCTC states that this initiative aims to elevate luxury rail tourism in India and attract both domestic and international tourists.
