New Delhi, July 22: Congress leaders, including Pawan Khera, have reacted to nationwide protests, comments from Jitendra Singh and Sanjay Singh, and the potential discussion in Parliament regarding the NEET paper leak.
In an interview, Pawan Khera stated, “Our protest is to protect the future of the youth, while their (BJP’s) protest is merely an attack on Congress. This is not about BJP or Congress; it’s about the future of our youth. The situation in Delhi today is that our youth are facing severe brutality from the police.”
Khera further emphasized that the government must safeguard the future of the youth, curb incidents of paper leaks, and demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Questioning Jitendra Singh’s remarks, Khera asked, “Who decides what Rahul Gandhi should do? What kind of democracy is this? Should the government dictate what the opposition can or cannot say? We stand firm on our demands. Dharmendra Pradhan must resign. This matter should be discussed in Parliament. Cases filed against students should be withdrawn. This is our demand. We are on the streets for the youth and will continue to be.”
Congress leader Hussain Dalwai remarked that there was no need to detain Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. In the past, during protests under Congress governance, a delegation was sent by the government for discussions. “This government is against the culture here,” he added.
Congress leader Surendra Rajput stated, “The real issues are being sidetracked. Why should there only be two protests? If necessary, there should be 600 protests. I do not wish to respond to Sanjay Singh as the Cockroach Public Party has already addressed his tweet, so I see no need. However, I want to tell Sanjay Singh that this is an issue related to students. There is no place for petty politics when it comes to the future of our children.”
