
Hyderabad, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : The sixth Hockey India Senior Men’s Inter-Departmental National Championship unfolded in Hyderabad on September 7, 2026, featuring eight matches. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) showcased a remarkable performance, defeating the Defence Accounts Sports Control Board with a staggering score of 10-0.
In the ongoing Pool B matches, CRPF’s trio of Mohammad Wasiullah Khan, Abhishek, and Gurmehakdeep Singh each netted two goals. Lovpreet Jainth, Harish Pal, Lovjeet Singh, and Deepak contributed to the scoreline with one goal apiece.
In another Pool B clash, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) triumphed over the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in a thrilling encounter, winning 5-4. CAG’s captain Pramod and Manjeet each scored twice, with Trishul Ganapati adding another goal. For SAI, Sunil scored two goals, while Suneet Lakra and Jojo Sunil each found the net once.
In Pool A, the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board crushed the Central Secretariat 8-1. Gurjot Singh and Chiramakko Sudip each scored twice for the Petroleum team, while Ravneet Singh, Manpreet, Kumar Varun, and captain Valmiki Devinder contributed one goal each. The Central Secretariat’s Chandan Singh managed to score their only goal.
The ITBP Central Hockey team made a comeback after trailing, defeating the Armed Border Force (SSB) 4-2. Rohit scored two goals, with Rahul Yadav and Roshan each adding one. SSB’s Vikas Kujur and captain Vishal Yadav scored for their side.
Pool C featured two intense matches. The Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) edged past the All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB) with a close 3-2 victory. For the Services, Kagnaraj Selvaraj, Amrit Tirki, and Akshay Dubey scored, while AIPSCB’s Arun Sahni netted both of their goals.
A match between the Steel Plant Sports Board and Union Bank of India ended in a 1-1 draw, with Ranjan Paul and Karthik Ramesh Patare each scoring.
The day’s matches concluded with Pool D games, where the Railway Sports Promotion Board defeated the Food Corporation of India (FCI) 5-1. Singh Gursahibjeet scored two goals, while Rawat Yogember, Pradeep Singh, and Rohit each added to the tally. FCI’s Navraj Singh managed to score their lone goal.
In another match, Canara Bank overcame Tamil Nadu Police 3-2, with Raju Manoj Gaikwad scoring twice and Somanna KM contributing one goal. Tamil Nadu Police’s Mathan M. and Tamilvanan found the back of the net for their team.
