New Delhi, June 21: The nation came together today to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day with vibrant participation across cities and states. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” resonated deeply amid growing global awareness of holistic well-being.
In a grand spectacle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a record-breaking mass yoga session in Visakhapatnam, joined by nearly three lakh participants. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav took part in the state-level celebrations in Bhopal, where he underscored the timeless relevance of yoga in modern life.
PM Modi: Yoga Unites the World
Speaking at the national event in Visakhapatnam, Prime Minister Modi reflected on yoga’s global impact:
“Yoga means to connect — and today yoga has connected the entire world. Over 175 countries have endorsed India’s proposal on yoga. From the Sydney Opera House to the peaks of Everest, yoga is practiced everywhere, reflecting its universal appeal.”
Highlighting the health crisis of modern lifestyles, the Prime Minister addressed the rising challenge of global obesity and advocated dietary reforms:
“We need to collectively reduce oil consumption in our diets by at least 10%. Yoga, combined with mindful eating, can drive this change.”
He also emphasized ongoing scientific research on yoga within Indian medical institutions:
“Our goal is to further integrate yoga into modern medicine so that its benefits are scientifically validated and universally adopted.”
PM Modi closed with a powerful message on yoga’s role in today’s turbulent world:
“At a time marked by tension and conflict, yoga offers a path to peace and harmony. It guides us from ‘I’ to ‘We’, embodying the spirit of service and co-existence.”
CM Mohan Yadav: Yoga is India’s Identity
At Atal Path in Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav joined hundreds in a state-level yoga session. In his address, he praised India’s rich yogic heritage:
“Yoga is not only India’s ancient tradition, but also the need of today’s fast-paced life. It builds self-confidence, fosters mental peace, and promotes a healthy lifestyle.”
He also applauded PM Modi’s global advocacy:
“We must thank our Prime Minister for elevating yoga to an international movement.”
Discussing this year’s theme, CM Yadav remarked:
“‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’ is more than just a slogan. It reflects our shared responsibility to harmonize health, environment, and future. Yoga is the ideal means to achieve this balance.”
A Day of National Unity and Global Inspiration
From small towns to metropolitan centers, from soldiers guarding the borders to students in schools, millions across India joined in celebrating International Yoga Day 2025. The message was clear: Yoga belongs to everyone — and it remains a powerful bridge between tradition and modern well-being.
