Hyderabad, July 2: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has proposed the integration of advanced technology in traffic signals across Hyderabad to enhance traffic management. He emphasized the need to incorporate AI systems to control traffic flow during rainy conditions.
On Wednesday, Alex Kipman, founder and CEO of Analog, along with P. Krishna Reddy, Managing Director of MEIL, met with the Chief Minister at the Bodhi Pavilion of MCR HRD Institute.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister provided several suggestions regarding the use of physical intelligence in Hyderabad. The company leaders shared insights about the Hyderabad traffic pilot project and discussed how technology can address urban challenges promptly. They also presented their vision for solutions based on “Next Generation Intelligent Infrastructure” and “Physical Intelligence,” which are essential for future generations.
Kipman and Krishna Reddy explained how physical intelligence—through sensors and robotics—can aid in developing safe, efficient, and responsive urban transportation systems. The discussion highlighted the potential for creating “cognitive cities,” capable of adjusting traffic signal systems based on real-time congestion, detecting water leaks for timely repairs, managing power supply according to demand, and facilitating emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire trucks.
Both organizations emphasized the importance of emerging technologies to meet the needs of rapidly growing cities, enhancing government operational efficiency, improving citizen services, and facilitating data-driven infrastructure planning.
On this occasion, Analog and MEIL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of the Chief Minister. This joint venture aims to strengthen mutual technical cooperation and promote innovation-based infrastructure development.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Advisor K. Ramakrishna Rao, and B. Ajit Reddy (CEO of Invest and Additional MD of Hyderabad Metro Rail).
