
Tel Aviv, February 26: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Israel to a grand reception at the airport before heading to his hotel in Tel Aviv. The Indian community had organized a special welcome, featuring cultural performances that resonated with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”
PM Modi enjoyed the performances and praised the artists, highlighting the event as a celebration of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
Immediately after landing, Modi held a private meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, at the airport. The two leaders discussed various topics aimed at enhancing bilateral relations, in addition to addressing regional issues.
A video shared by the Israeli Prime Minister’s office showcased their meeting, where Netanyahu remarked, “This is a relationship of true friendship. Very good friends, my very good friend.”
On social media platform X, PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and noted, “Had a wonderful meeting with Netanyahu. Happy to return to Israel after nine years. We discussed close cooperation in technology, water management, agriculture, talent partnership, and other areas. We also deliberated on regional developments.”
This private meeting followed a special reception for PM Modi by Netanyahu and his wife, Sara Netanyahu, at the airport.
Netanyahu also took to X, stating, “My wife Sara and I welcomed our good friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, who is here for another historic visit to Israel. PM Modi first visited Israel in 2017, after which I also visited India. We share a close personal relationship and often communicate, which I believe reflects the deep friendship between our countries.”
During his visit, PM Modi expressed eagerness to strengthen cooperation with Netanyahu across various sectors and discuss regional and global issues.
He emphasized that India and Israel share a robust and multifaceted strategic partnership, which has seen remarkable growth and dynamism in recent years. “I look forward to our discussions on strengthening ties in science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, defense and security, trade and investment, and public relations,” he added.
PM Modi also mentioned, “I will have the honor of being the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli Parliament.”
