New Delhi, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : On September 15, prominent Indian leaders, including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, extended their greetings on National Engineers’ Day. This day also marks the birth anniversary of the esteemed Bharat Ratna awardee, Dr. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
In a message on X, Om Birla expressed heartfelt tributes to Dr. Visvesvaraya, describing him as a great engineer and visionary nation-builder. He highlighted the significance of Engineers’ Day, stating, “Dr. Visvesvaraya made significant contributions to India’s water resources, irrigation, and public infrastructure through his extraordinary technical skills and foresight. His life exemplifies how knowledge, innovation, and dedication can transform the impossible into possible for the nation.”
Birla emphasized the opportunity this day provides to honor the millions of engineers who are shaping India’s future with their talent and innovation. He noted the crucial role engineers play in building robust infrastructure, modern technology, and digital advancements, stating, “Whether in roads, bridges, water management, or energy, the knowledge and hard work of our engineers are continuously driving the nation’s progress.”
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also took to X to honor Dr. Visvesvaraya, saying, “On this day, I pay my respects to the great engineer who dedicated his life to the making of modern India. Happy Engineers’ Day to all hardworking engineers serving the nation! Your remarkable contributions through engineering will inspire future generations to create a strong nation and society.”
Union Minister Manohar Lal echoed similar sentiments, offering his respects to Dr. Visvesvaraya and congratulating all engineers for their significant contributions to national service.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari paid tribute to Dr. Visvesvaraya, stating, “On Engineers’ Day, we remember Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also commemorated Dr. Visvesvaraya, affirming that his life and work will always serve as an inspiration. He acknowledged the crucial contributions of engineers to the nation’s progress and development.
