Bratislava, June 14: The Indian community in Slovakia has expressed enthusiasm for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming official visit, viewing it as a positive sign for increasing opportunities.
Avinash Vijay Kumar, a member of the Indian community residing in Slovakia for nearly 18 years, stated, “This is a moment of fortune and history for us. We are thrilled that PM Narendra Modi is taking time for us. Many of our people are already working in the skill sector, particularly in the automobile industry, and this will only grow in the future. It’s a great sign that will create more opportunities for Indians.”
Kumar added, “Wherever we go, we have good visibility, and we are grateful to our Prime Minister (Modi) for this. It’s a moment of pride for us.”
Another community member from India remarked, “We feel immense pride knowing how much respect PM Modi receives worldwide.”
Slovak President Peter Pellegrini expressed his eagerness, stating that PM Modi’s visit will open new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.
On social media platform X, President Pellegrini wrote, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I look forward to welcoming you in Bratislava on Monday. Your historic visit will advance our fruitful discussions from New Delhi and open new opportunities for Slovakia-India cooperation.”
Before departing for his foreign trip, PM Modi announced that he would visit Slovakia from June 13 to 18 at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron of France and Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia.
In February this year, French President Macron visited India, where he participated in an AI summit and met with PM Modi to discuss deepening cooperation between the two nations.
