New Delhi, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : India has strongly rejected Pakistan’s unfounded accusations regarding an incident along the international border in the Ferozepur sector of Punjab. The Ministry of External Affairs summoned the acting ambassador of Pakistan, Saad Ahmed Warraich, on Saturday to express India’s firm opposition to the ongoing illegal cross-border incursions from Pakistan.
In a statement, the ministry clarified that the allegations made by Pakistan concerning the incident on October 2 were baseless and motivated. It was noted that three individuals had crossed into Indian territory and continued to approach the border fence despite multiple warnings from the Border Security Force (BSF) to return. The BSF was compelled to take action due to the imminent security threat posed by these individuals.
The ministry’s statement highlighted a clear pattern of cross-border movement orchestrated by armed drug trafficking syndicates operating from Pakistan. India urged the Pakistani government to investigate these incursions and drug trafficking activities, which reportedly involve complicity from Pakistan’s own border security forces, and to implement corrective measures.
Furthermore, India called on Pakistan to respect the sanctity of the international border, adhere strictly to bilateral arrangements, and ensure effective control of its forces to prevent unauthorized movements across the border.
Previously, India accused Pakistan’s military rulers of using terrorism as a tool to divert attention from widespread domestic discontent by instigating instability within India and sponsoring cross-border terrorism for over three decades.
At the United Nations, First Secretary Bhavika Mangalanandan stated that instead of addressing domestic issues, Pakistan has been attempting to distract from its internal unrest by promoting instability in India. She referred to “Form 47,” a controversial electoral document, which allegedly manipulated the 2024 elections to bring Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government to power, turning it into a subject of ridicule.
