He stated, “On Monday, a meeting took place between NSA Doval and Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Foreign Minister. As mentioned in our official statement, both sides reviewed recent developments in bilateral relations and acknowledged that progress is being made towards gradually normalizing ties. The NSA noted that stable, reliable, and constructive bilateral relations enhance trust and understanding between the two countries. This conversation was positive and focused on the future.”

Present at the meeting were Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the Chinese Ambassador to India, Shou Feihong, and other officials.
According to a statement from Shou Feihong on the social media platform ‘X’, Wang Yi remarked that India and China, as the two most populous countries in the world, should view their relationship from both a long-term and global perspective, while also advancing cooperation between the two nations.
He stressed that both countries should take concrete steps to implement the significant consensus reached between their leaders. They should promote their respective development and progress through cooperation and accelerate the modernization process of the Global South.

Shou Feihong wrote on ‘X’, “It is essential to respect each other’s core interests. Sensitive issues should be handled wisely, and the China-India border dispute should be positioned in a way that it does not affect the overall relations between the two countries. Both sides should also work to develop a proper understanding among various segments of society to create a positive public opinion and social foundation for improving bilateral relations.”
