New Delhi, June 18: The awareness campaign for ‘International Yoga Day 2026’ is gaining momentum across the country. In this initiative, the Ministry of AYUSH has shared videos on social media featuring Bollywood stars Jackie Shroff and singer Sonu Nigam. Both artists encourage people to incorporate yoga into their daily routines and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
In the first video shared by the Ministry, Jackie Shroff emphasizes the importance of health in his unique style. During an interaction with the media, he states, “Yoga Day is approaching. Health is everything; otherwise, no one will even ask you. Focus on your breath and plant trees. That’s it.”
Accompanying this video, the Ministry of AYUSH wrote, “Health is everything. Join us in celebrating International Yoga Day with Jackie Shroff’s candid and genuine message. His powerful mantra is straightforward and impactful. Pay attention to your breath, plant trees, and keep the nation fit. When our health is good, we can accomplish everything. Let’s connect with nature and yoga for a stronger, healthier, and more energetic future.”
The Ministry also shared a video featuring renowned singer Sonu Nigam, who discusses his personal journey with yoga. In the video, he mentions, “I started learning yoga in 2004. I realized that yoga is not just physical exercise; it also awakens the soul. I urge you to make yoga an essential part of your life. Practice yoga 365 days a year.”
With Sonu Nigam’s video, the Ministry captioned, “Yoga is not just a means to keep the body fit; it is an exercise that awakens your soul. Sonu Nigam’s personal journey exemplifies how yoga can gradually become an integral part of life.” The post encourages people to incorporate yoga into their daily lives and practice it throughout the year.
This year, the theme for International Yoga Day 2026 is ‘Yoga for Healthy Aging.’ The aim of this theme is to convey that yoga is not limited to fitness but is also an effective way to remain healthy, active, and mentally strong as one ages.
Experts believe that regular yoga practice reduces stress, increases body flexibility, and enhances mental balance.
