IIT Guwahati Invites Applications for Junior Engineer Positions Until June 8

Guwahati, June 2: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has announced a recruitment opportunity for the position of Junior Engineer (Trainee) in its Infrastructure Planning and Management (IPM) section. A total of 10 contract-based positions are available, aimed at young job seekers.

These roles are temporary and will last for one year, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and institutional needs.

Among the 10 vacancies, there are 7 for Civil Engineering, 2 for Electrical Engineering, and 1 for Mechanical Engineering.

The online application process began on May 22 and will close on June 8. Interested candidates can submit their registration forms on the official IIT Guwahati portal by 5 PM on the final date.

Applicants must hold a three-year diploma in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or institution, with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6. Candidates should also have at least 2 years of relevant experience. Those with higher qualifications such as BE/BTech are not eligible to apply.

The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 28 years, calculated based on the final application date. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per government norms.

Selection will be based on academic qualifications, experience, shortlisting, and document verification. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹25,000.
