Major Recruitment Opportunity for Women in Andhra Pradesh KGBVs: Apply by June 5

Amaravati, June 2: The Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has announced a significant recruitment drive for women candidates. A total of 299 positions are available for the roles of Principal, Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Contract Residential Teacher (CRT), and Physical Education Teacher (PET) in the third-level Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs).

This recruitment is for the academic year 2026-27 and will be conducted on a contractual basis across 352 KGBVs statewide, excluding the districts of East Godavari, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna, and Guntur.

The 299 vacancies include 16 for Principals, 98 for PGTs, 133 for CRTs, and 52 for PETs. The online application process commenced on May 27, with the deadline set for June 5. Interested female candidates can submit their registration forms on the official portal of Andhra Pradesh KGBVs before the deadline.

Candidates applying for the Principal position must hold a B.Ed./M.A. and a postgraduate degree from a university recognized by NCTE/UGC. For PGT roles, a B.Ed. and a Master’s degree or a two-year postgraduate course, or a B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. in a relevant specialization is required. CRT applicants should have a graduation degree in the relevant subject or a four-year integrated degree from RIE-NCERT along with a B.Ed. For PET positions, a diploma in physical education (UGDPE) or a B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed. along with an intermediate or graduation degree is necessary.

Candidates applying for the Principal, CRT (all subjects), and PGT (only general subjects) positions must have passed the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET). However, TET qualification is not mandatory for PET and PGT (vocational subjects) positions.

The minimum age for applicants is set at 18 years, with a maximum age limit of 45 years, calculated as of July 1. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.

Selection will be based on a merit list derived from the percentage of marks obtained in academic and professional qualifications, followed by document verification. The monthly salary for selected candidates will range from ₹26,759 to ₹34,139, depending on the position.

All applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹300 online. Candidates should ensure that their registration fee is successfully paid for their application to be accepted.
