Bahrampur, May 3: Humayun Kabir, the national president of the Aam Janata Udyog Party (AJUP), has completely dismissed the exit polls related to the West Bengal elections. He stated that the displayed exit polls are unreliable and should not be trusted.
In a conversation, Kabir asserted, “No political party in West Bengal will come close to achieving a majority. Securing 148 out of 294 seats is beyond anyone’s reach. Wait for the results, which will be announced between 10 and 11 AM on May 4.”
Addressing concerns over the security and tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Kabir defended the Election Commission. He remarked, “The Election Commission has implemented strict security measures for the EVMs. People are making baseless claims that hold no value. The common public, who cast their votes, will emerge victorious.”
He further stated that while some individuals are discussing the possibility of EVM hacking, he firmly believes it is not feasible.
Regarding potential post-election violence, Kabir expressed confidence in the Election Commission’s ability to successfully manage the challenges of the 2026 elections. He congratulated Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, referencing the violence that occurred during the 2021 and 2024 elections, which resulted in injuries and fatalities.
Kabir maintained an optimistic outlook for his party’s performance, predicting that AJUP could secure at least 5 to 8 seats out of 22. He added, “The saddest news is that Adhir Da will lose in Bahrampur; he will not win.”
