How Lisa Haydons Coffee Shop Encounter Changed Her Bollywood Journey

Mumbai, June 17: In Bollywood, some stars wait years for their big break, while others see their lives transform in an instant. Actress and model Lisa Haydon’s story is a prime example of the latter.

Today, she is recognized for her modeling, fitness, and diverse film roles. However, few know that her cinematic journey began with a chance encounter that altered her life’s course. While sitting in a coffee shop, she caught the eye of a prominent actor and producer, opening the doors to her Bollywood career.

Born on June 17, 1986, in Chennai, Lisa’s real name is Elizabeth Mary Haydon. Her father is of Indian Malayali descent, and her mother is Australian. During her childhood, Lisa spent time in India, Australia, and the United States. Initially interested in psychology, she aspired to become a yoga instructor. It is said that she ventured into modeling on the advice of friends, starting with small advertisements in Australia. Her first ad was for a stretch mark cream.

Gradually, Lisa grew fond of modeling and decided to pursue it as a career. In 2007, she moved to India, where she modeled for several major brands. Her beauty, confidence, and unique style quickly made her a well-known face in the fashion industry. In 2011, she became a part of the Kingfisher Calendar, a significant achievement in the modeling world. Additionally, she walked the ramp in various fashion shows, establishing herself as one of India’s most talked-about models.

The turning point in her life came when she was spotted in a coffee shop. According to media reports, actor and producer Anil Kapoor noticed her, leading to her opportunity to work in the film “Aisha.” This was a completely new experience for her, as she had limited acting knowledge. After signing the film, Lisa trained in acting in New York and learned the nuances of performance in Mumbai.

She made her Bollywood debut with “Aisha,” released in 2010, capturing attention right from her first film. However, she gained widespread recognition for her role as Vijayalakshmi in the 2014 film “Queen.” Her performance was highly praised by both audiences and critics, earning her nominations for several prestigious awards for Best Supporting Actress.

Following the success of “Queen,” Lisa appeared in films such as “The Shaukeens,” “Housefull 3,” “Santa Banta Private Limited,” and “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.”
