Satara, June 14: On the occasion of the completion of 12 years of the Modi government, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale addressed the media in Maharashtra’s Satara and Sangli, highlighting the achievements of the central government.
Athawale stated that since 2014, the government has taken historic steps for the upliftment of marginalized, disadvantaged, and poor communities, following the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” From transferring money directly into bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to providing free rations to over 810 million citizens, and opening more than 580 million Jan Dhan accounts, the success has been unprecedented. Additionally, initiatives like the “Lakpati Didi” scheme to empower women, free gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme, and the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers have significantly improved the lives of ordinary citizens and instilled a new sense of confidence among them.
Furthermore, the extensive changes in the country’s infrastructure are laying a strong foundation for a “Developed India.” In the past 12 years, nearly 400,000 kilometers of paved roads have been constructed in villages, national highways have expanded rapidly, and modern railway facilities like over 164 Vande Bharat Express trains have been introduced. The record increase in the number of airports indicates that India is progressing on a new path of development. Alongside this physical growth, the government has also preserved our cultural consciousness and heritage, creating a new identity for India as a strong, prosperous, and secure nation, embodying the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.” This remarkable journey of 12 years is not just a numbers game but a living symbol of the unwavering faith of 1.4 billion Indians and the changing destiny of the nation.
Athawale expressed his sorrow over the recent N-32 aircraft accident. He described the crash of the Indian Air Force‘s N-32 transport aircraft in Jorhat, Assam, as extremely tragic and heartbreaking. In this painful incident, we lost five brave airmen. I pay my humble tribute to the martyrs Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveer Vayu Khemaram Kumawat, and Agniveer Vayu Danish Alam. The sacrifice they made for the service of the nation will never be forgotten. During this difficult time, I express my deepest condolences to the grieving families.
