Beijing, August 4: China has significantly expanded its international air cargo network this year, responding to changing market demands. According to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), over 100 new international cargo flight routes have been launched as of July 31.
In July alone, 11 new international cargo routes were initiated across the country. So far in 2026, a total of 103 new international cargo routes have been established, adding 229 additional cargo flights each week.
In light of the evolving international market demands, the industry has adjusted its strategies, placing a special focus on the Asian regional market. New cargo corridors have also been developed for Africa and North America, reducing reliance on the European market.
These flights primarily transport goods related to cross-border e-commerce, high-end manufacturing products, high-value items, electronic products, and auto parts.
Ma Zhengrong, Vice President and Secretary-General of CFLP, stated that the export of AI hardware has become a key driver for growth in the air cargo sector. There has been a surge in the export of high-tech products such as AI storage, computing equipment, and semiconductors. These items are high-value and require timely delivery, prompting companies to prioritize air transport.
