Udaipur, July 23, 2025 – Hindustan Zinc (NSE: HINDZINC), India’s only and the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, is redefining science and technology education in India through its cutting-edge STEM Lab initiative. In partnership with the Society for All Round Development (SARD), the company has established four immersive, technology-driven STEM Labs in government schools across Udaipur, Rajasthan and Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, setting a new standard for experiential learning in public education.
The initiative marks a significant step towards transforming government schools into hubs of modern, engaging, and accessible STEM education, equipping students with 21st-century skills and future-ready knowledge.

33 Education Leaders Witness Transformation First-Hand
In a significant development, 33 senior education dignitaries from 25 districts — including District Education Officers (DEOs) and DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) Principals from Jaipur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Rajsamand, Banswara, and other districts — recently visited the newly established STEM Labs at Bichhadi and Debari in Udaipur. The visit allowed these decision-makers to experience the impact of immersive, hands-on learning environments in real time.
Mridula Vyas, Principal of DIET Mount Abu (Sirohi), remarked, “It has given us an insight into what science can be and how it can be made interesting without becoming a burden… it feels like we are visiting a fairyland.”
Dr. Arun Sharma, Professor, RSCERT (Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training), added, “Inside these walls, the whole world fits in. We can tour anywhere virtually, learn, and grow. I would like to thank Hindustan Zinc for this initiative.”
Immersive, Future-Ready Learning Environments
The four state-of-the-art STEM Labs include three model labs in Udaipur — located at Government Senior Secondary School (Bichhadi), Dabok, and Zinc Smelter Senior Secondary School — and one Integrated Science Lab at Government Girls Inter College, Pantnagar (Uttarakhand).
Each STEM Lab offers:
AI-enabled interactive flat panels with access to 5,000+ digital learning modules in science and mathematics
Augmented & Virtual Reality (AR/VR) tools including VR headsets and AR simulations for experiential learning
Refurbished infrastructure featuring modern lighting, modular furniture, and interactive murals using BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) concepts
Thematic learning zones, talking walls, micro-models, and hands-on experiment stations for tactile, visual engagement
Empowering Teachers and Students Beyond the Classroom
Hindustan Zinc’s initiative goes beyond infrastructure. Teachers receive specialized training in immersive teaching methodologies, enabling them to simplify complex STEM concepts and make learning more engaging. For students, learning extends beyond textbooks through workshops, science fairs, and hackathons that encourage innovation, collaboration, and curiosity.
The STEM Labs are designed as innovation hubs that foster scientific thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving — key competencies for the future workforce.
Driving Holistic Community Development
This initiative aligns with Hindustan Zinc’s broader vision of sustainable community development. Through its social outreach, the company has already impacted over 23 lakh people across 2,300 villages via programs focused on education, women empowerment, healthcare, environment preservation, and sustainable livelihoods.
By investing in education infrastructure and STEM innovation, Hindustan Zinc is not only uplifting academic standards in rural and semi-urban schools but also inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and thinkers.
