On the occasion of World Cancer Day, special cancer awareness and screening camps were organised across various regions of Rajasthan and Uttarakhand under the Mobile Health Van Project operated by Mamta HIMC, with support from the CSR department of Hindustan Zinc Limited (Daily Kiran).

The campaign was conducted at five key locations—Zawar in Udaipur, Dariba in Rajsamand, Chanderia in Chittorgarh, Agucha in Bhilwara, and Pantnagar in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. The primary objective was to increase cancer awareness in rural and tribal areas, help identify early symptoms, and highlight the importance of timely treatment.

Special focus was given to women and tobacco users, who were made aware of the risks of oral, breast, and cervical cancers. During interactive awareness sessions, doctors and nurses from the mobile health van explained the causes of cancer and preventive measures in the local language.

Free health check-ups, including oral examination, BMI assessment, and blood pressure tests, were conducted on the spot. Individuals showing symptoms or risk factors were guided on further treatment options and informed about available government health services. Efforts were also made to address myths, fear, and misconceptions related to cancer.

Through these sessions, hundreds of villagers were sensitised towards health. Participants not only understood the importance of cancer screening but also pledged to quit tobacco and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
