Hindu Prayer for Peace and Unity at White House Event

Washington, May 9: A Hindu prayer for peace and unity was conducted during the ‘National Day of Prayer’ event at the White House. As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary of independence, the event showcased a rich tapestry of religious diversity.

A volunteer from BAPS (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) participated in the ceremony, leading the prayer in accordance with Hindu traditions. The volunteer invited attendees to close their eyes and join their hands in prayer.

He then recited a peace mantra repeatedly, wishing for tranquility across the world.

The speaker expressed, “May there be peace in the sky and space. May peace prevail on Earth, in water, and among all living beings. May nature and the environment be filled with peace. May the peace of heaven spread throughout the universe.”

He also prayed for personal peace in the lives of individuals, stating, “May we all attain physical, mental, and spiritual peace.”

In closing, the speaker expressed gratitude on behalf of the organization, saying, “We thank you for this occasion from the entire BAPS community, including Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey, and our guru, Guru Hari Mohan Swami Maharaj.”

On social media, BAPS Public Affairs expressed their honor in participating in the ‘National Day of Prayer’ at the White House. The organization noted that such occasions remind us that faith, service, and shared values strengthen society.

Previously, during the ‘National Day of Prayer’, President Donald Trump honored America’s long-standing tradition of prayer, faith, and belief in God. As the nation celebrates 250 glorious years of independence, he emphasized the importance of remembering the countless blessings bestowed upon the country and its people.

He further remarked that the history of the Western world has been intertwined with faith in God, from ancient civilizations to Christian empires in Europe and the founding of America. Trump noted that this faith was evident even during America’s struggle for independence, when the Second Continental Congress declared a day of fasting, prayer, and reflection to seek God’s blessing and protection in their fight for freedom.
