Chandigarh, August 2: Haryana has maintained its top position in the growth of State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) collection for the first four months of the fiscal year 2026-27, following its achievement in the previous fiscal year 2025-26.
According to the latest report from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Haryana’s post-settlement SGST collection reached ₹5,135 crore in July 2026, compared to ₹4,027 crore in July 2025. This marks a year-on-year growth of 28%, significantly exceeding the national average increase of 13% during the same month.
For the first four months of the fiscal year 2026-27 (April to July), Haryana’s post-settlement SGST collection totaled ₹19,680 crore, up from ₹15,055 crore in the corresponding period last year. This represents an impressive growth rate of 31%, the highest among all states, and well above the national average of 17%.
Additionally, during July 2026, Haryana recorded a 25% increase in total GST revenue collection, while the national average growth stood at 10%. This sustained growth in SGST collection reflects Haryana’s robust financial position and the effective, focused efforts by the state government to enhance revenue collection.
Moreover, Haryana has achieved significant milestones under the National Tobacco Control Program in the first two quarters of the current fiscal year.
Dr. Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary of the Haryana Health and Family Welfare Department, reported that 12,865 educational institutions in the state have been declared tobacco-free. She emphasized that the government is actively working towards making villages tobacco-free, with 1,128 villages already achieving this status.
