New Delhi, August 2: A press conference held at the government residence of independent MP Pappu Yadav in New Delhi turned chaotic on Sunday when a young man allegedly threw a slipper at him. Following the incident, Yadav’s supporters apprehended the assailant and physically assaulted him before handing him over to the police. The atmosphere became tense for a brief period.
Witnesses reported that Yadav was addressing the media regarding his recent parliamentary protests and the controversies surrounding them. During the conference, some attendees began to pose sharp questions. Initially, the situation was limited to a debate, but it quickly escalated into shouting from the opposing side. This prompted Yadav’s supporters to react angrily, leading to a confrontation between the two groups.
The tension escalated rapidly, resulting in heated exchanges and shoving. The chaos intensified to the point where chairs were thrown at the press conference venue. During this tumultuous moment, a young man reportedly hurled a slipper at Yadav.

Following the incident, Pappu Yadav alleged that there was an attempt on his life and that it was part of a larger murder conspiracy. He claimed that the attacker had also threatened him with death.
In a conversation with the media, Yadav stated, “Now, every day, people are saying to kill Pappu Yadav, burn him, and they will give 5.1 million rupees. There was a conspiracy to kill me, but I survived.” He also accused the assailant of wielding a knife.
It is noteworthy that on Friday, Yadav had staged a protest in the Parliament complex wearing saffron attire, addressing the alleged embezzlement of funds for the Ram Temple. His demonstration drew criticism from several political parties, including the BJP. This press conference was organized to present his side of the story regarding that issue.
