Gujarats Deputy CM Participates in Community Yoga Event in Glasgow

Glasgow, July 31: Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi joined a community yoga session in Glasgow on Friday, engaging with local Scottish residents and members of the Indian community. This event was organized to highlight India’s cultural outreach during the Commonwealth Games.

The morning session saw participation from both the local community and individuals of Indian descent. Sanghvi practiced yoga postures and pranayama without any governmental protocol.

Addressing the attendees, the Deputy CM described yoga as India’s unique and invaluable gift to the world, emphasizing its role in harmonizing physical health and mental peace.

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting yoga on a global platform, stating that the Prime Minister has brought yoga to the forefront worldwide.

According to the state government, the involvement of Scottish residents alongside members of the Indian community reflects the cultural ties and friendship between India and Scotland.

During his visit to Glasgow, Sanghvi also attended the Scotland-India Business Forum. Discussions focused on strengthening trade relations, industrial partnerships, and future investment opportunities between Scotland and India.

He highlighted Gujarat’s business-friendly environment and invited industry leaders to explore investment opportunities in the state.

Sanghvi promoted the ‘Ahmedabad Experience Centre’ in Glasgow, designed to inform people about the host city of the 2030 Commonwealth Games.

Inviting the people of Glasgow and its surroundings to visit the center, Sanghvi stated that it showcases Ahmedabad’s culture, heritage, cuisine, and identity ahead of the Games. He expressed excitement about welcoming the world to Ahmedabad in 2030.

In relation to the Games, the Deputy Chief Minister met with Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra before the qualification rounds.
