New Delhi, July 31: BJP leaders have strongly endorsed the central government’s decisions regarding the recently passed ‘Vande Mataram’ bill and the Anti-Paper Leak bill. Senior BJP leader Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, MP Naresh Bansal, and spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi emphasized that both laws are crucial for the nation’s honor and the future of students. They also targeted opposition comments, particularly those made by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti welcomed the ‘Vande Mataram’ bill, stating that it should have been enacted much earlier. She asserted that no one would dare disrespect ‘Vande Mataram’ now, and strict legal action would follow any such offense. “Vande Mataram is not just a song or a novel; it is the national anthem that countless young people have embraced, even in the face of death. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the entire government for passing this in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, thereby honoring Mother India,” she said.
Addressing Owaisi’s remarks on the ‘Vande Mataram’ bill, Jyoti stated that Mother India is a mother to all citizens, and respecting her is every citizen’s duty. She questioned why there is discomfort with ‘Vande Mataram.’ “Everyone has their own way of worship. Some pray, others go to church or temples, but Mother India belongs to everyone. Disrespecting her is unacceptable,” she added.
On the Anti-Paper Leak law, Jyoti noted that Prime Minister Modi acted swiftly on this serious issue, leading to the passage of stringent laws in both houses of Parliament. Actions against the guilty have already begun, and special measures to prevent paper leaks are being implemented. “Paper leaks have long been an organized problem. With the rise of social media and digital technology, such cases are surfacing rapidly,” she remarked, referencing incidents in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan. She emphasized that this is a collective responsibility of society, not just one government.
Jyoti urged that education and students’ futures should not be politicized. She called on both the ruling and opposition parties to unite in supporting this law and ensuring the harshest actions against offenders. “Students do not belong to any party; they are students first. Protecting their future is our collective responsibility,” she stated.
BJP MP Naresh Bansal also supported the ‘Vande Mataram’ bill, asserting that the current government does not engage in appeasement politics. He highlighted that previous Congress governments shied away from such steps due to appeasement, but the Modi government will not compromise on issues related to national dignity and pride. “Vande Mataram and the national anthem are symbols of our identity. Anyone who disrespects them will face legal consequences,” he warned.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi described the Anti-Paper Leak law as a fulfillment of Prime Minister Modi’s promise. He stated that the government has enacted strict laws in Parliament to ensure students’ interests are not compromised. “Now, there will be stringent actions against organized gangs and mafias involved in paper leaks. The new law includes provisions for swift resolution of cases through fast-track courts, ensuring timely punishment for offenders. This law is not just about penalizing criminals; it is designed to protect the futures of millions of students and will enhance transparency and trust in the examination system,” he concluded.
