Gujarat Farmers Benefit from Fertilizer Cell App for Easy Purchase

Mumbai, June 24: Farmers in Navsari, Gujarat, are experiencing significant advantages from the newly launched Fertilizer Cell Application System mobile app. This innovative app facilitates the pre-booking of fertilizers, effectively eliminating previous challenges faced by farmers.

Farmer Ashokbhai Gandhi no longer needs to wander around or stand in long queues at fertilizer vendors. Instead, he can pre-book the required fertilizers through the app and purchase them from nearby suppliers. According to Gandhi, this mobile app has proven to be extremely beneficial, resolving all issues related to fertilizer procurement.

In an interview, Gandhi emphasized the app’s utility, stating that it simplifies farming operations. Deputy Agriculture Director P.R. Kathiria explained that the app allows farmers to easily identify which local stores have fertilizers available. This means they no longer have to travel extensively or wait unnecessarily in lines for their supplies.

The Fertilizer Cell Application System mobile app was developed by the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure easy, transparent, and timely access to subsidized fertilizers. Currently, it is being piloted in Navsari district.

According to agricultural department officials, farmers must register using their Aadhaar numbers and provide details about their farmland. After registration, they receive a QR code, which they can present to local vendors and suppliers to purchase fertilizers. This process saves time and enhances agricultural productivity.

Promoting the use of digital technology in farming, this mobile app enables real-time management of fertilizer availability, distribution, and demand. If successful in Navsari, this digital platform could be expanded to other districts in Gujarat, making fertilizer sales and distribution more organized and transparent.
