Hyderabad, June 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sharply reacted to Congress Rajya Sabha member Sonia Gandhi’s remarks regarding Gaza and Israel. BJP leader Manmeet Singh addressed Gandhi’s statement, asserting that the Modi government’s priority is the development of India, rather than engaging in political discussions about foreign issues.
Manmeet Singh responded to Sonia Gandhi’s criticism, questioning why the central government does not openly discuss the Gaza and Israel situation. He emphasized that the Indian government’s focus is entirely on national development and the welfare of its citizens.
He stated, “We will talk about our India and its development. Issues related to India’s progress are paramount for us. We prioritize our national interests over political debates on Israel and Palestine. They are managing their affairs, and we are managing ours.”
The BJP leader also accused Congress of practicing divisive politics. He remarked that the Congress party has a history of creating societal divisions.
“Throughout her political career, Sonia Gandhi has engaged in divisive politics. Her predecessors, including Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Rajiv Gandhi, followed similar paths. The Congress party’s history has been one of division rather than unity,” he added.
Manmeet Singh reiterated that the Modi government’s complete focus is on advancing India, accelerating development projects, and safeguarding national interests. The central government is consistently working in this direction, prioritizing the nation’s growth.
It is noteworthy that in a recent article, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi pointed out that despite global opinions forming against Israel’s actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, India has not issued any response.
