Gandhinagar, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi commended Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s approach to combating corruption during a ceremony in Gandhinagar on Saturday. He emphasized that Patel’s actions against corrupt officials have had a more significant impact than his public statements.
At the inauguration of development projects worth ₹1,848 crores, Sanghvi noted, “CM Bhupendra Patel is not one for excessive talk; he prefers to take direct action. He has administered ‘Ganga Jal’ to the most corrupt officials across the country.”
Sanghvi stated that under Patel’s leadership, the state government consistently prioritizes the interests of citizens, making decisions without any political vendetta. “The Chief Minister has announced a series of development initiatives,” he added.
Discussing the transformation of Gandhinagar, Sanghvi remarked that the city, once primarily known for its secretariat, has evolved into a vibrant urban center featuring modern amenities, education, industry, commerce, and cultural activities.
He stressed the significant projects developed in Gandhinagar and surrounding areas under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, including universities, a heliport exhibition ground, GIFT City, and Mahatma Mandir, which have become landmarks of the city.
Sanghvi also highlighted the noticeable change in evening and nighttime activities in Gandhinagar. “Previously, the streets would become deserted after sunset. Now, the situation has transformed. Gandhinagar has become a bustling city, with streets that once lay empty now filled with activity,” he stated.
The Deputy CM addressed the upcoming Navratri festival, underscoring its importance to Gujarat’s cultural identity. He noted that the government is facilitating late-night Garba celebrations, allowing citizens to worship Goddess Amba while also supporting local businesses to thrive during the festive season.
He reiterated that Patel’s governance style is characterized by swift decision-making and direct delivery of development projects to citizens. Sanghvi urged residents to take responsibility for cleanliness and support Prime Minister Modi’s cleanliness campaign, pointing out that even educated individuals sometimes litter public spaces.
“This behavior increases the workload of sanitation workers,” he remarked, encouraging citizens to commit to not littering and to maintain cleanliness in public areas.
Sanghvi congratulated residents on the ₹1,848 crore development package and called for their continued participation in the city’s growth. Alongside Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, he flagged off nearly 30 new e-buses, making the journey to the ministers’ residential complex as regular passengers.
