Grand Celebrations Planned for Founding Day at Kainchi Dham

Nainital, June 12: A large number of devotees are arriving at Kainchi Dham in Nainital, Uttarakhand, in preparation for the Founding Day celebrations on June 15. In the lead-up to the event, continuous recitations of the Hanuman Chalisa are taking place, followed by readings of the Ramayana.

Pradeep Shah, the head and trustee of Kainchi Dham, stated that this annual event is becoming increasingly grand. Preparations are underway in accordance with tradition. The recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa has been ongoing for a month and will conclude on June 12, after which the Ramayana readings will commence. The Ramayana recitation will end on June 13, followed by a Havan (fire ritual) on June 14, and a distribution of Prasad (blessed food) on June 15.

He mentioned that the ceremony will conclude after the Prasad distribution, which follows a long-standing tradition. There is no specific information regarding the distribution of Prasad, nor is it measured. Arrangements are made based on past estimates to ensure everyone receives Prasad.

Pradeep Shah also noted that while there are parking issues for devotees visiting the Dham, a solution is expected soon. Facilities for resting are being created to enhance the experience for visitors.

He emphasized that everyone involved in the temple’s operations is cooperating, with many individuals assigned responsibilities, all of whom are fulfilling their roles diligently.

Given the anticipated influx of millions for the celebrations, the Nainital police have issued traffic guidelines. According to these guidelines, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from operating from June 13 to June 16. Shuttle services and special parking arrangements have been made for devotees. Additionally, private vehicles will not be allowed during the festival, and two-wheelers must park in designated areas in the Bhawali region.

The administration believes these measures will alleviate vehicle congestion in the Kainchi Dham area, with temporary parking facilities established at Bhawali, Nainiband, Jyolikot, Haldwani, and other key locations.
