
Mumbai, February 22: The Chinese New Year has been celebrated on a grand scale in various countries this year. In Moscow, Russia, the festivities continued for the third consecutive year. Starting from New Year’s Eve, vibrant Spring Festival markets and cultural events were held daily at Manezhnaya Square and other locations.
Additionally, a special Moscow Metro train themed around the Spring Festival was launched, illuminating key sites in the city with a ‘Chinese Red’ glow.
In Venezuela, the Chinese embassy organized a “Chinese New Year Greetings” event at the National Palace of Arts in Caracas. A local attendee expressed that the friendship between the people of Venezuela and China is unbreakable, extending heartfelt New Year wishes to the Chinese community.
The Wuxi National Orchestra from Jiangsu Province, China, performed a lively folk music concert at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany, entertaining nearly 2,000 local audience members as part of their Spring Festival celebration.
In Belgium, the Chinese embassy collaborated with local Chinese associations to host a “Chinese New Year Garden Fair” in the city of Dinant. The event attracted a large crowd, creating a festive atmosphere. Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Clarinval remarked on the close and friendly relations between Belgium and China, extending warm wishes to all for the New Year.
On the first day of the Chinese New Year, Toronto, Canada’s largest city, lit up the iconic CN Tower in red to welcome the Year of the Horse.
Recently, the Chinese New Year Lantern Festival was inaugurated in Ralidepur, Nepal. Guests took pictures in front of the lanterns, while traditional Chinese and Nepali performances heightened the festive spirit. Nepal’s Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation expressed hopes that everyone’s life would be as vibrant and bright as the glowing lanterns, and he believes that China’s governance will pave the way for a better future.
