New Delhi, June 9: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s image on the global stage has undergone a significant transformation over the past 12 years. Particularly, in the context of the changing world order, the Global South, and international trade, India has emerged as a central player. An upcoming interview with India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will delve into this topic, titled “12 Years of Global Welfare.”
In this interview, Minister Jaishankar will discuss the international changes India has experienced under PM Modi’s leadership, covering areas such as space exploration, energy security, trade, cyber capabilities, national security, and foreign policy.
The Ministry of External Affairs announced the interview on the social media platform X, stating, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has witnessed a significant transformation over the past 12 years. From space exploration to energy security, trade, cyber capabilities, national security, and foreign policy, India has established its identity globally, strengthened its strategic capabilities, and delivered positive outcomes for its citizens.”
Under PM Modi’s guidance, India remains one of the world’s top five economies. Over the last 12 years, the country has made remarkable progress in economic, technological, infrastructure, and global diplomacy. India has solidified its position as the fifth-largest economy and set new benchmarks in digital transformation.
The government has emphasized the development of roads, railways, airports, and ports through various initiatives. Projects like Vande Bharat trains, expressways, and modern airports have revitalized the country’s transportation network. Meanwhile, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has revolutionized the digital payment system.
In the space sector, India showcased its scientific prowess with the successful lunar landing of Chandrayaan-3 and the Aditya-L1 mission. The focus on self-reliance in defense and the production of indigenous military equipment has also increased.
On the foreign policy front, India’s global role has strengthened. Successful G20 presidency, advocating for the Global South, and active participation in various international forums have enhanced India’s diplomatic credibility.
However, challenges such as unemployment, inflation, and social inequality remain. Despite these issues, India has established new dimensions of growth, technology, and global influence over the past 12 years.
